37 brands, 7 new brands, 5 physical fashion shows<\/strong> with live models and guests, and 32 digital content including digital fashion shows and video presentations. These are the numbers of a Milan Fashion Week at the time of COVID, which closed on January 19th.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Don Diego<\/strong>, we have followed this new edition of Milan Fashion Week<\/strong> closely with curiosity.<\/span><\/p>\n

During coffee breaks, between brainstorming and conference calls, we exchanged some opinions among ourselves and these are our key takeaways.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the period we are living in, or perhaps precisely for the period we are living in, we have breathed a new aesthetic. A return to the essential<\/strong>, a lightness of colors and fabrics<\/strong>, and a base of comfortable relaxation.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

COLORS AND PRINTS\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Men’s fashion<\/strong> is colored with pastel shades <\/strong>and neutral tones<\/strong> from clothes to accessories. Versace<\/strong> takes on the catwalk with pink<\/strong>, but there are also the sky blues<\/strong> by Fendi<\/strong>, applied to the most classic men’s suits and which flow into different shades of blue for shoes, sandals, and bags.<\/span><\/p>\n

And then again the sober elegance of the eggshell color<\/strong> flanked by Armani ice gray.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Vivid colors, explosive patterns, and multicolor prints<\/strong> are the masters of the MSGM<\/strong> collection.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oversized sweatshirts, Bermuda shorts, and patchwork windbreakers are mixed with knitwear with a camouflage pattern.<\/span><\/p>\n

Memorable are the printed surfer shirts<\/strong>, the pajama-style coordinates, and the poplin button-down shirts born from the brand’s collaboration with the Los Angeles painter Seth Armstrong.<\/span><\/p>\n

1970s INSPIRATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

TOD’s<\/strong> chooses to revisit some timeless garments by making them wear to a twenty-year-old who has the face of the actor Lorenzo Zurzolo<\/strong> known as the protagonist of the hit series “Baby”<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a video entitled #sevenT<\/strong>, Lorenzo wanders around in an elegant Italian villa, dressed in soft jumbo cord trousers, blazers<\/strong>, wide coats,<\/strong> and comfortable wool sweaters.<\/span><\/p>\n

ETRO<\/strong>, one of the few brands that showed live, brought men and women to the catwalk dressed in romantic prints<\/strong>, floral patterns, and hobo chic suits<\/strong> in perfect 70s style<\/strong>. We also breathed a return to the mythical 70s on the streets of the city during the days of Milan Fashion Week<\/strong> where we saw many looks parading that offered interesting interpretations of the classic men’s suits<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

DESIRE FOR TRAVEL AND NATURE<\/strong><\/p>\n

A rediscovery of nature,<\/strong> the desire to explore wonderful places<\/strong> has been a theme that has inspired many brands.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the case of Ermenegildo Zegna<\/strong> who paraded his models among the trees of the Oasi Zegna<\/strong> in the mountains of Trivero in the Biella area, where the company was born. In this newfound relationship with nature, the theme of sustainability<\/strong> is strongly inserted, for example, Salvatore Ferragamo<\/strong> has given shape to soft silhouettes and neutral tones using regenerated leathers, cashmere, recycled nylon, and organic cotton.<\/span><\/p>\n
